NYC Date Night Outfit: Dinner + Tree

Happy FriYay! Today, I'd like to share images and deetz from my trip to NYC last weekend. It was the first snowfall of the season on the east coast. It's what I like to call "gentle beautiful snow", because it falls slow and beautifully without disrupting activities of the day. Since last weekend, it has snowed two other times. I don't remember the last time it snowed this much in December, it's been a minute. Snow creates holiday vibes and sets the mood for Christmas...in 10 days! I'm excited. Let's slow down the next three weeks then fast forward to Memorial Day weekend (just kidding, kinda).

This Guess asymmetrical belted walker burgundy coat from Macy's is my favorite piece of this look. I got a size small because I wanted it to be fitted, I don't plan on wearing it with heavy sweaters or sweatshirts. It comes in navy and black, too. I fell in love with this coat when I tried it on. Unlike many other coats with a boxy style, this one fits to the figure like a dream and elongates the body/legs. The tie belt is a nice addition because it accentuates curves. The solid and simple gold buttons are the cherry on top of the red velvet cake! It has a fairly thick material that kept me warm all day. I knew it would be perfect for a cold adventure in the city. This coat is a win and a statement piece when all buttoned up! I found similar solid color styles at Macy's click HERE, HERE and HERE.

I paired this outfit with a cream knit ted ruffle crop top jumper with elasticated hem from Rebellious Fashion. They are a UK based store with USA shipping availability. I got size 10/12 because it's a crop top and I wanted it to fit big on me. This top can be worn off the shoulders or scrunched up as a turtle neck. I wore black lawless high waisted jeans from Missguided and black booties from New York and Co. See previous post (Scallop Hem Skirts) to read more about these booties. I also wore a white double pom beanie to keep my head and ears warm. It's so cute, comfortable and stayed snug around my head. Love beanies in the winter.

I used the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette from Ulta on my eyes. UD's eye shadows are easy to work with, the colors are pigmented and they blend really well. I am not an eye shadow pro. I find myself reaching for UD palettes as a safe zone.

Joe and I met a couple in NYC for dinner, drinks and to see the tree. We had these plans for about three weeks and when it started snowing, I knew it was meant to be. We had a f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s early dinner with drinks at this vegan spot. I had wine, of course, Pinot Gris. Then, we trucked through the snow to the tree. The tree was beautiful, bright and humongous. Too many lights and people to count... the area was packed! We closed the night in a café for some coffee and tea. It's so magical in the city this time of year, take the trip if you have a chance!

Ciao for now,
Italiana
